Job summary

6AM City, LLC seeks an Activities Assistant to help implement engaging programs for frail and elderly participants in our Colorado program. Under the Recreation Therapist supervision, you will help plan recreation activities tailored to abilities and interests, and support daily living tasks as needed.

You will lead groups and one-on-one sessions, assist with events, handle supplies, and participate in care meetings.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of one year experience working with the frail or elderly.

Responsibilities

• Assists with development and implementation of recreational activities that meet the interests, needs and capabilities of participants under the supervision of Recreation Therapist.
• Assesses and re‑assesses participants’ functional status in relationship to participation in recreational activities, in collaboration with the Recreation Therapist.
• Assists participants with non‑skilled activities of daily living.
• Leads and/or assists in large groups, small groups 1:1’s and individual activities such as exercise, arts and crafts, games and current events. Assists in the organizing of special events and outings, in collaboration with the Recreation Therapist.
• Performs preparation and cleanup of activities by putting away supplies and straightening out activity areas.
• Attends meetings regarding participant care as assigned by the Recreation Therapist.
• Assists Day Center staff in providing lunch service and assistance with arriving participants, as appropriate and approved by the ADHC Supervisor.
• Orders supplies for department and maintains department equipment, within reason and ability of position.
• Completes assigned charting and reporting as assigned by Recreation Therapist.

• Bi‑lingual‑Spanish, Russian, Punjabi or Hmong
