Job summary

LACAMASCREEK is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in delivering meaningful activities for residents. This role focuses on fostering physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being for seniors and building relationships with residents and families.

You will assist in planning, coordinating, and leading activities, maintaining calendars and records, and ensuring safety and compliance in a care-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in long-term care or senior living preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Creativity, patience, and a genuine interest in supporting older adults.
  • Ability to read and understand policies, procedures, and written instructions.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and leading individual, small-group, and large-group activities.
  • Help create and maintain the monthly activity calendar and attendance records.
  • Encourage residents to participate in hobbies, crafts, reading, outings, and other meaningful activities.
  • Provide appropriate activities and materials for residents who are unable to participate in group activities.
  • Assist with resident assessments, activity care plans, and progress documentation.
  • Help coordinate resident transportation for outings, appointments, and discharges as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, coworkers, and community partners.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure Activity Department.
  • Follow applicable federal, state, local, and company requirements and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $19.00-$23.75 per hour, DOE (Depending on Experience)
