Job summary

Belair Nursing & Rehabilitation in Bellmore, NY, is seeking an Activities Assistant to plan and run diverse recreational and therapeutic programs for residents.

You will help organize arts, crafts, games, and musical activities, and work with the Activities Director to build a monthly schedule. Training is provided; prior long-term care experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience in long-term care or senior living preferred but not required; training provided.
• Compassionate and empathetic nature.
• Interest in the therapeutic needs of the aged and chronically ill.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and executing a diverse range of activities for residents
• Engage residents in arts and crafts, games, music, and other recreational programs
• Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and implement a monthly activities calendar

What You'll Do

As an Activities Assistant, you have a crucial role in planning and implementing a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities. Your creative ideas and enthusiasm will contribute to fostering a positive and lively atmosphere for our residents.

• Part-time; 3 days per week
• WEEKLY PAY!

Rate of Pay

Starting from USD $24.65/Hr.

Qualifications of an Activities Assistant include:

• Previous experience in a Long‑Term Care or senior living setting is preferred but not required - training will be provided
• Compassionate and empathetic nature
• Interest in the therapeutic needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both
