Job summary

Berlin Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center is seeking an Activities Aide to join our caring team. This part-time role runs 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, 1–2 days per week, with same-day pay available and a pay rate of $15.92 per hour.

You will support residents by coordinating and participating in engaging activities in a warm, home-like setting. Responsibilities include documenting participation, promoting well-being through social, physical, and intellectual activities, assisting in planning recreation

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year experience in an Activities Department in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related medical facility preferred.

Responsibilities

$15.92/hr.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Document daily participation of residents in scheduled programs
• Promote the social, physical, and intellectual well-being of our residents.
• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, and implementing the recreation programs of the facility.
• Participate in community marketing events as needed
• Assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire team.
• Communicate the residents' mood, behavior, or degree of involvement to the appropriate team members.
• Perform administrative requirements as needed, such as audits, forms, and reports.
• Help set up, break down, and decorate for resident and facility events.
• Assist and transport residents to and from daily scheduled activities

Experience & Education:

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• As a minimum, one (1) year experience in an Activities Department in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility or other related medical facility is preferred.

Specific Requirements:

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Must have patience, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
• Must participate in continuing education and Inservice training.
