Qualifications

• Previous childcare experience with school-aged children.
• Patient, reliable, energetic, and confident managing challenging behaviors.
• Ability to provide consistent routines, clear boundaries, and positive behavioral guidance.
• Reliable personal vehicle for school pickups and transportation to activities.
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification.
• Comfortable working in two households and around two dogs (no pet care).
• Willingness to maintain a nut-free environment due to allergy.
• Comfortable working in a household where Christian faith is openly practiced.

Responsibilities

• Pick up a 6-year-old boy from school in Sammamish and provide engaging after-school care until parents return.
• Plan activities such as outdoor adventures, playground visits, library trips, games, and creative projects.
• Maintain predictable routines and support emotional regulation.
• Use positive redirection and communication strategies when challenges arise.
• Prepare simple meals or snacks using food provided by the family and ensure he has eaten before the end of the day.
• Provide a safe, nurturing environment while transitioning between two households and communicate with both parents about his daily experiences.
