Job summary

Dasco HME LLC is seeking an Advanced Care Team Clinician (CRT, RRT, RN, LPN) to provide clinical insights and education to patients using home respiratory equipment. You will support care transitions, train patients and families, and ensure accurate information about equipment and services.

The role requires knowledge of HIPAA and regulatory standards, plus experience in clinical settings. Travel to patient homes and the corporate office is possible; hours are typical business days in a branch

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Professional licensure or certification CRT, RRT, RN or LPN required.
• Six months’ experience in a clinical services role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, families and caregivers via phone, Telehealth or in person.
• Performs NIV setups and home visits as needed; participates in on-call as required.
• Maintains care plans and coordinates with physicians and other clinicians to resolve issues.
• Keeps up-to-date on DASCO equipment and services; supports daily operations and quality controls.
• Explains insurance benefits, coverage and patient costs to patients/caregivers; ensures HIPAA compliance.
• Maintains licensure/certification requirements and CEU compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

Job description

SUMMARY

The Advanced Care Team Clinician (CRT, RRT, RN, LPN) provides clinical insight and education to DASCO and/or CPAP Central (CPC) patients, as well as patient instruction on the safe and appropriate use of home respiratory and other equipment. In addition, the ACT Clinician maintains knowledge of equipment and services, remains compliant with all applicable rules and regulations and supports the continuum of care for patients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Educates patients/family/caregivers which may include explaining diagnosis,personal care, symptom recognition, equipment uses and care and other relevantinformation via phone call, Telehealth Visits and in person as needed.
2. Completes daily tasks of general follow-up with patients, NIV follow ups and phone calls to the patient/family/caregiver as needed.
3. Completes NIV Setups and NIV home visits as needed, participates in on-call as needed.
4. Supports the continuum of care by creating and/or overseeing care plans, communicating with the physician or other clinicians, identifying, and resolving patient care issues whenever possible.
5. Maintains current and thorough knowledge of DASCO equipment and services. May assist with quality control, maintenance of equipment, and general support of daily Clinical Outcomes Team operations
6. Maintains current understanding of insurance benefits, coverage, and patient costs to adequately explain to patient and/or caregivers.
7. Maintains compliance with HIPAA, The Joint Commission, State Respiratory CareBoard, State Pharmacy Board and all other applicable rules and regulations.
8. Maintains current on professional licensure or certification requirements including CEU compliance.
9. Other duties as assigned by manager.

REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

1. High School diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Professional licensure or certification Certified, Registered or Licensed Respiratory Therapist, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse (CRT, RRT, RN, LPN)
3. Six months’ experience in a clinical services role.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

1. Associate’s degree in related field.
2. Six months’ experience in healthcare/medical/insurance/DME customer service role

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position in branch position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory role.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates primarily in a professional office setting and also spends significant time in a clinical setting and in patient home residences. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is typically required to sit; frequently stands, occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities used by this position include both close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The HCP is a tactile position, requiring the frequent handling of equipment, gauges and meters, and some physical contact with patients during training or clinical follow-ups.

TRAVEL

Some travel is required for this position, with occasional overnight travel for continuing education or other meetings at the corporate office.
