Seaman Corporation is seeking an Acoustic Engineer to join our Technology team! This position will report to the New Business Development Director, Acoustic Solutions in Wooster.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Acoustic Engineer is a key member of Seaman BuildCraft’s Commercial Noise Reduction team, responsible for designing and implementing innovative acoustic mitigation solutions. This hands‑on role involves auditing customer sites, developing and executing acoustic strategies, and validating performance to ensure optimal results. Additionally, the Acoustic Engineer will drive innovation by conceiving, testing, and qualifying new acoustic materials and solutions. Collaboration with internal teams—engineering, operations, procurement—and external partners is essential to successfully design, scale, and commercialize advanced noise reduction products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Apply understanding of Seaman BuildCraft materials and engineering capabilities to design and deliver acoustic mitigation materials and solutions solving customer problems.
  • Design development and testing processes to determine performance that correlate with in field performance.
  • Provide technical support to solve technical challenges from customers.
  • Develop expertise in customer applications and provide deep insights into customer experiences, market segments and trends.
  • Identify and obtain technical performance data to support sales and marketing in creation of product literature, brochureware and competitive messaging.
  • Advance projects through agreed project management processes and communicate with stakeholders to ensure approvals and handoffs are executed in a timely manner.
  • Assist customers with acoustic mitigation programs, technical support, and scale‑up
  • Prepare technical presentations and supporting literature development to document work and train the broader organization
  • Protect intellectual property through patent applications and communicate relevant data through technical and marketing presentations.
  • Represent the company at industry events
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • College degree or higher in a scientific discipline in the field of acoustics or acoustic engineering.
  • Certification or membership of a recognized institution in the field of acoustics.
  • Three or more years working in a commercial environment.
