Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the ACHIEVE Program in South Boston, Virginia. The role supports elementary students in a self-contained and pull-out model within a small classroom of up to 10 students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Virginia Special Education teaching license or eligibility.
• Experience with students with learning disabilities and intervention programs preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills; differentiated instruction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs aligned with student goals.
• Deliver specialized instruction in reading, writing, math and core areas.
• Provide individual and small-group instruction to address needs.
• Use data-driven progress monitoring to guide instruction.
• Implement positive behavior supports and classroom management.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers and families.
• Maintain required documentation and student records.
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary planning.
