Job summary

Greentone is seeking a Senior Buyer for its Corporate Office in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The role focuses on purchasing and negotiating production and raw materials, using industry knowledge to select suppliers and quotes, and reporting to the VP of Purchasing.

Responsibilities include sourcing, long-term supplier agreements, PO placement via QAD EE, and driving cost savings while collaborating with CSP facilities, engineering, and sales teams. Travel up to 15% domestically and 5% internationally.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required, business concentration preferred.
• At least ten years of automotive purchasing experience.
• Experience with QAD SE or EE ERP systems.
• Purchasing experience with chemicals, small components, wire harnesses, castings preferred.
• Knowledge of IATF-16949 requirements and procedures.

Job description

We are seeking Senior Buyer for our Corporate Office in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Position Summary

Responsible for purchasing and negotiating production and raw materials from suppliers. An experienced purchasing professional who relies on industry knowledge and judgment to evaluate suppler quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers. Reports to VP Purchasing.

Essential Job Functions

• Evaluate and choose sources for production components/materials
• Develop Long Term Agreements with suppliers as appropriate
• Place purchase orders (via QAD EE) with suppliers
• Manage pricing at a corporate level for the plants
• Identify and execute cost savings opportunities
• Support CSP facilities in resolution of supplier issues, lead negotiations as necessary
• Interacting with CSP facilities and building strong relationships with the suppliers who support CSP plants
• Work closely with Engineering to gain an understanding of program requirements / Coordinate Engineering Changes
• Participates in program kickoff meetings. Works with Sales, Engineering, CSP plants personnel and supplier to ensure duties and timelines are met. Expedites as necessary.
• Participates in the development of new or enhanced Purchasing policy and procedures.
• Performs a variety of complicated tasks. A wide degree of independence and decision-making latitude is expected.
• May participate on Supplier Quality audits.
• Responsible for ensuring that customer requirements are met.
• Adhere to all CSP company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
• Travel up to 15% domestic and 5% international

Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree is required and concentration in business is preferred.
• A minimum of ten years of automotive purchasing experience is required, preferably in the composites or metallics area.
• Strong experience with QAD SE or EE ERP system.
• Purchasing experience with chemicals, small components, wire harnesses, castings would be a plus and is strongly preferred.
