Job summary

Purchase College, SUNY is seeking an ACE Advisor to provide individual academic and personal support to an assigned group of students as they progress through their degrees. The ACE Advisor reports to the Director of the ACE program and works in the College Advising Center, serving all students at Purchase.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of higher education experience
  • Strong understanding of first-year and transfer student needs, including first-generation and underserved populations
  • Ability to learn curricula across BA/BS majors and track student progress
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and facilitation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to learn new systems

Responsibilities

  • Delivers comprehensive advisement support to an assigned group through degree completion
  • Reviews student progress and tracks use of academic support services
  • Conducts outreach to faculty and staff to support student success
  • Maintains accurate data and notes, referring to appropriate supports
  • Supports annual recruitment of new students into the program
  • Organizes events for students, faculty and staff
  • May deliver or support student seminars on relevant topics
  • Assists Advising Center staff with walk-ins, calls and emails
  • Advises non-ACE incoming/continuing Purchase students as needed
  • Assists with department projects as needed
