Job summary

Accura Engineering in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineer with 5+ years of experience in stormwater design and hydrologic modeling. You will work with clients and regulatory agencies, prepare reports and drawings, and help coordinate projects from conception to permitting.

The role emphasizes collaboration, mentoring junior staff, and applying green infrastructure concepts and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation) to deliver compliant site solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• PE license preferred.
• 5+ years of civil/stormwater engineering experience.
• Knowledge of stormwater design including green infrastructure practices.
• Strong CAD software skills and drafting procedures.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation.
• Solid understanding of local, state, and federal stormwater regulations.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop stormwater management plans and design drainage systems.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS, SWMM, or similar tools.
• Prepare reports, drawings and specifications for proposals and permitting.

• Conduct site evaluations and oversee construction to ensure design compliance.
• Assist in preparing project budgets, schedules, and proposals.

• Provide design calculations and drawings for site plans.
• Respond to inquiries on stormwater regulations and site-specific questions.
• Establish rapport with civil engineer specifiers and support team goals.
• Support submittal drawings, calculations, regulatory approvals, and product delivery.
• Record project information accurately.

Job Title: Civil/Environmental Engineer

Duties/Responsibilities

• Develop stormwater management plans, including analysis and design of stormwater systems (e.g., drainage channels, detention basins, culverts).
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using software such as HEC-RAS, SWMM, or similar tools.
• Prepare engineering reports, drawings, and specifications for project proposals and permitting.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and contractors.
• Conduct site evaluations, field inspections, and oversee construction to ensure project compliance with design specifications and local regulations.
• Assist in preparing project budgets, schedules, and proposals.
• Provide technical support and mentorship to junior staff.
• Determine and develop the most effective site solution utilizing a suite of Stormwater product offerings.
• Present project-specific solutions to civil engineering specifiers.
• Provide design calculations and drawings for integration into civil engineering plans to secure product solutions on site plans.
• Respond to civil engineers on project-specific inquiries and industry questions including local stormwater regulations.
• Establish and maintain rapport with civil engineer specifiers.
• Support area and internal team members to achieve team goals.
• Provide project and technical support for submittal drawings, calculations, regulatory approvals, production, and product delivery.
• Recording project information accurately.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program or a related field
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in civil/stormwater engineering.
• Knowledge in stormwater design including green infrastructure practices
• Strong knowledge of CAD software and drafting procedures
• Proficiency in civil engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation).
• Strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to stormwater management.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Experience with green infrastructure and low-impact development (LID) design.
• Familiarity with stormwater quality modeling and best management practices (BMPs).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing project needs.
