Job summary

Mosaic Pharmacy Service in Sterling, VA is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to keep patient accounts accurate and revenue cycle running smoothly. You will process payments, maintain clean records, and manage collections to keep the pharmacy financially healthy.

You will work behind the scenes to support pharmacists and care teams, ensuring timely postings, monitoring overdue accounts, and staying compliant with HIPAA while applying insurance billing knowledge and billing software

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in pharmacy billing, medical billing, or healthcare revenue cycle management.
• Strong knowledge of insurance billing processes including Medicare Part D, Medicaid, and commercial insurance.
• Experience with pharmacy management systems and billing software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and data entry accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming patient payments by debit and credit card, HSA, and check, and post them to the correct patient accounts.
• Prepare AR and other financial reports, and track payments to keep AR management and patient and accounting records accurate.
• Monitor reports to identify overdue accounts, and provide updates on collection status and outstanding balances.
• Update and maintain patient accounts with accurate balance information, and support collection efforts.
• Stay current on changing insurance regulations, billing requirements, and industry best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve billing efficiency and accuracy.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA at all times.
• Take on other duties as assigned.

In this role, you will keep Mosaic’s patient accounts accurate and its revenue cycle running smoothly, processing payments, maintaining clean records, and managing collections so the pharmacy stays financially healthy.

What You’ll Do

Compensation

The expected pay range for this position is $24.00 to $25.00 per hour. Actual compensation within the range is determined by factors including experience, skills, and internal equity.

What We’re Looking For

• 2 or more years of experience in pharmacy billing, medical billing, or healthcare revenue cycle management.
• Strong knowledge of insurance billing processes, including Medicare Part D, Medicaid, and commercial insurance.
• Experience working with pharmacy management systems and billing software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company-sponsored visa sponsorship.

Preferred

• Virginia Pharmacy Technician license.
