Job summary

Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Lowell seeks an Accounts Receivable Assistant to support the finance team in day-to-day accounting. This full-time role offers a competitive weekly pay range of $23 to $25 per hour, commensurate with experience, and the opportunity to contribute to a busy skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities include discussing billing with residents, maintaining records, securing cash, backing up Payroll, and completing Medicaid redeterminations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 6 months of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• English language proficiency is required.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.

Responsibilities

• Discuss billing with residents or responsible parties and Director of Finance.
• Maintain accurate records for accounts, journals, deposits, and ledgers.
• Secure all cash and valuables on hand per policy.
• Provide backup support for Payroll position.
• Complete Medicaid redeterminations when applicable.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by the Director of Financial Services.

As an AR Assistant, you will assist in the day-to-day accounting function of the facility, providing exceptional support to our finance team. This is a full-time opportunity with a competitive weekly pay range of $23 to $25 per hour, depending on experience.

Northwood is a 123-bed skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities

• Discuss billing situations with residents and/or responsible parties, including the Director of Finance

• Maintain accurate and timely records and reports, including all accounts, journals, deposits, ledgers, and more

• Secure all cash and valuables on hand, per policy

• Back-up for the Payroll position

• Complete Medicaid redeterminations when applicable

• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Financial Services

Requirements

• High school diploma or its equivalent required

• Six (6) months of experience in bookkeeping or accounting practice; health care accounting experience preferred but not required

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
