Job summary

RethinkFirst is a mission-driven organization in the U.S. seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting and finance team.

The role focuses on managing the full AP cycle, coding invoices, and ensuring accurate financial records, with remote-first flexibility and nationwide reach. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of AP experience, strong Excel and ERP skills (Sage Intacct), and a proven ability to collaborate across departments while maintaining internal controls and meeting

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience; bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable principles and general accounting practices.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Experience with an ERP system such as Sage Intacct preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full-cycle AP function, including monitoring the AP inbox and entering invoices in Sage Intacct with accurate GL coding.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation while ensuring proper approvals are obtained.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Communicate with employees, vendors, and internal departments about AP-related questions.
• Reconcile AP-related general ledger accounts and assist with month-end close activities.
• Review and process employee expense reports and corporate credit card transactions.
• Serve as the point person for our procurement tool, including user support and approval workflow maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
• Assist with audit requests and provide AP documentation as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and increase efficiency.

We are currently seeking an A/P Specialist to join our accounting and finance team.

Key Responsibilities
