Job summary

Feralloy Corporation, part of Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co., seeks a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist at our Chicago headquarters to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and vendor communications.

This role requires strong accounting knowledge, proficiency with ERP systems and Excel, and a commitment to process improvement. Pay ranges from $60,000 to $65,000 annually, with bonus eligibility and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and accounts payable software.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with process improvement initiatives is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and process ACH payments, wire transfers, and checks according to payment schedules.
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding balances.
• Maintain accounts payable aging reports and monitor open items.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor payment inquiries.
• Collaborate with purchasing, receiving, and internal departments to resolve invoice and payment issues.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities and reporting.
• Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes and efficiency through automation and best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and vendor communications while supporting the company's financial operations. Pay Range: $60,000 - $65,000 annually

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $60,000.00/Yr. - USD $65,000.00/Yr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
