The Alaska Psychiatric Institute (API) is recruiting for a Accounting Technician 1.

What you will be doing: Under the direction of Alaska Psychiatric Institute’s (API) Accountant 3 (PCN 060669), the Accounting Technician 1 performs technical and specialized examination of medical accounting and performs billing for institutional and professional claims using the EHR (Electronic Health Record) specialized custom psychiatric hospital software (MT – Meditech) through the B/AR (Billing/Accounts Receivable) module and billing through a 3rd party vendor clearinghouse (SSI) for electronic and paper submission of patient claims. API is an inpatient psychiatric hospital licensed and accredited as an 80-bed psychiatric hospital in the State of Alaska which has forensic, adult, and adolescent units to support the mentally ill population from a diverse demographic. The position will review, audit, and submit medical claims, following standards and guidelines set by the supervisor. In addition, this position will review denied medical claims for appeal or
