Job summary

SmartStop Self Storage in California is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to lead the Property Accountant workflow and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting. You will oversee monthly statements, verify reconciliations, and collaborate with operations to support audit readiness and operational decisions.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting or Business Admin and at least five years of related experience.

• Minimum 5 years of direct experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Mastery of accounting and tax preparation software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Must be a team player!

Responsibilities

• Oversees and reviews monthly financial statement packets from Property Accountants.
• Works with the property Accountants and Operations staff to resolve outstanding bank reconciliation issues.
• Assists Director of Accounting in monitoring deposit verifications.
• Reviews and monitors the properties for various aspects including reviewing loan escrow activities; ties GL balances to loan statements; compiles loan covenant reporting requirements; manages property insurance claim issues; other items as assigned.
• Assists with dash report auditing and processing monthly uploads; audits new store set-ups.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Salary:

between $95,000 - $110,000 depending on experience + annual discretionary bonus

Location:

Hybrid once fully trained - Monday & Friday are work from home; Tuesday through Thursday are in-office at our beautiful corporate office in Ladera Ranch, CA

Accounting Supervisor Job Summary
