Job summary

UES is seeking an experienced finance professional to oversee the accounting function for business operations and partner with the regional CFO to deliver timely financial updates, including month-end, YTD, and YoY comparisons.

In this role you will supervise branch administration, ensure consistent application of UES policies, support onboarding of new hires, and strive to improve processes while leveraging your financial acumen.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 5+ years progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or team lead responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the month-end and year-end close process, including variance analysis and the preparation of supporting schedules.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements, internal reports, and audit deliverables.
  • Monitor adherence to internal controls and accounting policies to ensure compliance with GAAP and company standards.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and assist with system upgrades or automation projects.
  • Prepares invoices, proposals, and reports, and supports collection processes, as needed.
  • Responds to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Serves as the first point of contact for visitors & clients.
  • Assist in implementing new accounting procedures and policies as needed.

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or team lead responsibilities.

  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
Travel Requirements
  • This position does not require regular travel as part of its primary responsibilities. However, occasional travel may be required, up to 10%, primarily for occasional off‑site meetings, training sessions, or company events. Travel, when necessary, will be communicated in advance and aligned with business needs.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • This position primarily operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to work at a desk for extended periods while using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
  • The position involves sitting for extended periods, performing data entry, and engaging in frequent communication via email, phone, and in‑person interactions.
  • The role involves regular communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders, both in person and through virtual platforms.
  • The physical demands of the job may include occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of office materials up to 15 pounds.
