Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking an Accounting Practitioner in Charlotte, NC to partner with the accounting team on basic manual and computer-based tasks. The role sits primarily in the office and offers exposure to payroll, AP invoices, and routine financial processing.

You will work under supervision, handle data entry, and develop practical accounting skills while contributing to timely and accurate financial records. Entry-level candidates with 1 year of experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Entry level - 1 year experience in accounting preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word required.

Responsibilities

• Scan AP Invoices
• Process payments, invoices and vouchers
• Extract specified information or add standard coding and attachments to documents
• Compile simple summaries of information related to documents processed
• Manage timesheet collection, approval and other payroll-related items
• Locate and extract information from files and records as requested
• May perform simple arithmetic tasks manually or with a calculator
• Assist Senior Accounting Practitioner under close supervision

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Very good written and verbal communication skills
• Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

The pay ranges from $52,000.00-$75,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
