Job Summary

We are seeking an Accounting/Tax Manager to join our Private Client Services (PCS) practice in Elgin, IL. This role is hybrid (3 days per week in office). The manager will oversee multiple client engagements, ensure accurate and timely financial statements, prepare and review tax returns, manage staff, and foster professional growth within the team.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple client accounting service engagements, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable standards.
• Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for clients.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and addressing accounting inquiries.
• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
• Train, supervise and develop associates and seniors; cultivate expertise and impart specialized knowledge.
• Take responsibility for accurate time and billing for self and team.
• Develop working knowledge of client’s business, complete assigned tasks, and meet client deadlines.
• Actively solicit new client relationships and participate in client/potential client seminars to expand networking opportunities.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards, proactively applying new knowledge to client engagements.
• Collaborate with other tax professionals to coordinate efforts and ensure efficient delivery of tax services.
• Hold self and direct reports accountable for achieving developmental goals.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent field.
• 5+ years of accounting or tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience in public accounting or a public/corporate mix environment.
• CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent Certification.
• Prior public accounting or professional services industry experience.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications

• Exceptional technical knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience with CCH Access Tax.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks Online and Desktop.

Location & Work Arrangement

Elgin, IL – Hybrid role (3 days per week in office).

Compensation

For Illinois candidates the expected salary range is $85,000 to $150,000, based on experience and applicable factors.
