Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing, food processing, agriculture, or poultry environments.
• Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting activities for the facility, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and cash transactions.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, management reports, and financial analyses.
• Assist to ensure month-end and year-end closing processes and deadlines are met.
• Monitor and analyze plant production costs, including labor, supplies, utilities, maintenance, packaging, and other operating expenses.
• Track and analyze production variances, inventory usage, yields, and other key operational metrics.
• Work with plant management to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency.
• Assist plant leadership with financial planning and decision-making.
• Review purchase orders, invoices, expenses, and other financial transactions for accuracy and proper authorization.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company accounting policies.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
• Reconcile general ledger, bank, inventory, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Provide financial reporting and analysis to Plant Management and Corporate Accounting.
• Develop and maintain reports and key performance indicators to measure plant financial and operational performance.
• Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality of company financial information.
