Job summary

Coinbase is seeking an Accounting Manager, Lending Products, to own end-to-end accounting for prime financing and brokerage. You will lead the team through monthly closes, quarterly reporting, and annual audits, ensuring accurate financial reporting as the business scales.

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you’ll build processes, implement controls, and collaborate across functions on SEC requirements and lending practices. This role emphasizes scalable, compliant close workflows.

Qualifications

• CPA designation with 9+ years of progressive accounting experience in fintech or financial services.
• Experience with financing, lending or prime brokerage accounting for a public company including SEC reporting.
• Proven ability to build accounting processes and internal controls from the ground up, including SOPs and automation.
• Experience leading a team through monthly close cycles and quarterly/annual reporting under tight deadlines.
• Working proficiency with NetSuite, FloQast, and Google Suite to streamline close workflows.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve efficiency and quality.

As an Accounting Manager, Lending Products, you'll join the Accounting team within Finance and own the end-to-end accounting function for Coinbase's prime financing and brokerage business. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, Prime Brokerage and Digital Assets, you'll build processes and controls from the ground up, lead a team through monthly close and quarterly/annual reporting, and partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial reporting as this business scales.

What you'll do:

• Own the review and approval of monthly financing accounting entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness through each close cycle.
• Build scalable, automated financial processes and controls for the prime financing function, including drafting standard operating procedures that reduce manual effort and support SOX compliance.
• Lead your team through the monthly financial close, quarterly reporting, and annual audit processes, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are audit-ready.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to provide accounting insights on SEC regulations and lending practices, translating regulatory developments into actionable accounting guidance.
• Drive the design and implementation of new controls and processes for platform and brokerage accounting activities, identifying gaps and recommending improvements that keep pace with business growth.

Required Skills and Experience:

• CPA designation with 9+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a mix of Big 4 public accounting and industry roles in fintech or financial services.
• Direct experience with financing, lending, or prime brokerage accounting at a publicly traded company, including familiarity with SEC reporting requirements.
• Proven track record of building accounting processes and internal controls from the ground up, including designing SOPs and implementing automation that reduced close timelines or error rates.
• Experience managing or leading a team through monthly close cycles and quarterly/annual reporting, with demonstrated ability to meet tight regulatory deadlines.
• Working proficiency in NetSuite, FloQast, and Google Suite, with the ability to leverage these tools to streamline close and reporting workflows.
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

$166,345—$195,700 USD
