CFS is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, lead month-end close and financial reporting, and mentor a growing accounting team in Illinois.

You will partner with leadership to drive strategic initiatives, improve processes, and ensure GAAP compliance while fostering a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting.
• Experience managing month-end close processes and preparing financial statements.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• CPA designation or CPA-track preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning initiatives.
• Coordinate external audits and serve as a primary liaison with auditors and external partners.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Partner with operational and executive leadership to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
