Job summary

HRsmart in Milwaukee, WI seeks an Accounting Manager to oversee project accounting and firmwide financial reporting under GAAP. The role partners with the CFO to establish accounting principles and drive timely reporting, with a leadership path for the right candidate.

You will prepare budgets, analyze costs, manage month-end closings, track cash flow, and ensure regulatory reporting. Strong Excel/Deltek experience and CPA/CMA preferred are desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• CMA or CPA designation or candidate preferred.
• Five plus years of experience in field.
• Knowledge of GAAP and how to apply them to routine and complex environments.
• Proficient in reading and preparing reports and correspondence.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Deltek.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income and expenses based on past, present, and expected operations.
• Prepare other long-term and short-term financial statements as needed.
• Analyze and report on projects financials monthly.
• Prepares budgets and reviews supporting documentation before reporting to CFO.
• Analyze business costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or advise CFO.
• Assist in month and year end closings, and applicable reporting.
• Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.
• Track firmwide cash flow and report to CFO.
• Coordinate the preparation of reports and schedules for all tax filings for firm and partnership.
• Manage financial records for special firm entities.
• Ensure accounting systems function properly; support upgrades and transitions.
• Work with Project Managers to ensure contracts are correctly setup and updated in the accounting system.
• Monitor client invoices for accuracy and contract compliance.
• Provide review and backup support for all accounting and payroll functions.
• Work with CFO on business insurance renewals for Professional Liability and General Insurances.
• Manage Certificate of Insurance issuance for clients.
