Northbay Recruiter is partnering with a growing California-based logistics provider to fill an Accounting Manager role. As the right hand to the Controller, you will oversee accounting operations and drive GAAP compliance in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA required.
• 3-4 years of public audit experience.
• 3-5 years accounting experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Strong Excel and technical skills.
• Ability to identify accounting issues, research solutions and make sound recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Co-lead the accounting team to meet weekly, monthly and annual deadlines.
• Oversee general ledger activity, and keep accounts accurate, documented and properly supported.
• Maintain areas of complexity: intercompany transactions/reporting, fixed assets, capitalization, lease accounting, and compliance across multiple locations/entities.
• Review accounting practices to maintain consistency with GAAP and company policies.
• Maintain and improve internal controls and identify areas where processes can be tightened up or made more efficient.
• Own the accounting team's efforts related to annual audits, tax filings, and other compliance and reporting requirements.
• Provide guidance and support to accounting staff and help troubleshoot accounting issues as they come up.
• Work closely with the Controller on accounting policies, procedures, reporting, and other finance projects.
• Work with Operations, IT, and Customer Service teams to identify and resolve accounting-related issues and find ways to stop them from happening.
• Always be on the lookout for ways to improve processes, systems, and reporting.
