Job summary

Targa Resources in Tulsa, OK, seeks a senior accounting leader to oversee plant accounting for gas processing operations. You will manage a team of 4 accountants and a supervisor, maintain the GL, and drive end-of-period closing and reporting.

You will analyze performance and guide process improvements while ensuring financial data integrity across functions. Ideal candidates hold a BA/BS in Accounting or Finance with 10+ years in energy and 2+ years in management.

Qualifications

• BA or BS in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in an energy related field, preferably gas processing.
• Minimum 2 years of manager level experience.
• Familiar with Waterfield/TIPS/Excel or equivalent Settlement System.
• General ledger background with ability to review, analyze and resolve G/L outstanding balances.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and writing skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the organization.
• Adapt effectively to new and changing environment.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime as necessary during close and billing cycles.
• Must be proficient in Excel and Word.
• Regular and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop accounting staff of 4 accounting professionals and one supervisor responsible for gas processing plants.
• Manage the plant accounting process, maintain the general ledger, coordinate daily accounting activities, perform month and quarter end analysis and reporting.
• Analyze group performance and identify opportunities to effectively implement process driven change/improvement.
• Provide leadership and direction in managing the integrity of financial information. Work effectively with commercial and other functional group personnel, as necessary, to accomplish company, business unit and/or department goals/objectives.
• Review and update SOX documentation and coordinate the performance of SOX testing, as required.
• Actively lead and participate in special projects as requested.
