Markent Personnel is seeking an Accounting Manager–Commercial Construction / Project-Based Business to lead accounting operations for a privately held, owner-led firm in the Stockbridge, GA area. This on-site, hands-on Controller role reports to the owner and leads a small accounting team in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities include month-end close, GL, reconciliations, AP/AR, project costing, forecasting, and process improvements, with daily collaboration with project

Qualifications

• Approximately 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience required.
• Experience supervising accounting staff.
• Construction/project accounting experience preferred.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, able to work with owner.

Accounting Manager– Commercial Construction / Project-Based Business

Compensation: $80,000–$100,000 DOE | Full-Time | On-Site

A growing, privately held, owner-led company in the commercial construction/specialty contracting industry is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead its accounting operations. The company has experienced significant growth and is currently in the approximately $10M–$15M revenue range.

This position reports directly to the owner and manages a three-person accounting team. The ideal candidate is comfortable both leading the accounting function and remaining involved in day-to-day operations. This is not a large corporate Controller role; the successful candidate will be someone who enjoys working closely with ownership, accounting staff and project teams in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee day-to-day accounting operations and a three-person accounting team
• Manage month-end close, general ledger and account reconciliations

Ideal Background

• Approximately 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong QuickBooks Online experience required
• Prior experience supervising or leading accounting staff
• Strong understanding of AP, AR, reconciliations, GL, cash flow and financial reporting
• Construction, specialty contracting, installation or other project/job-cost accounting experience strongly preferred
• Highly tech-savvy and comfortable adopting new software and systems
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
• Hands-on, organized and comfortable working directly with an entrepreneurial owner
• Able to lead, delegate and improve processes while still stepping into the details when necessary

Compensation: $80,000–$100,000, depending on experience.
