Working at Mommy’s Bliss means making work as blissful as it can be. For us, that means supporting each other inside and outside of the office.

About the Role

Mommy's Bliss is seeking a hands-on, technology-forward Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our finance function.

The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, sound judgment, and an ownership mindset, along with the ability to lead others and use modern technology to improve how work gets done. The Accounting Manager is expected to take ownership of day-to-day accounting activities, resolve issues independently, and keep the Controller informed of significant matters requiring attention.

This role offers an opportunity for an experienced accounting professional ready to take the next step, with responsibility for managing core accounting activities, supporting the team, and contributing to ongoing process and systems improvements.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Controls
  • Manage the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Maintain general ledger and balance sheet integrity, including accounting for inventory, cost of goods sold, customer deductions, and outsourced order-to-cash activities.
  • Lead audit preparation and PBC coordination to support internal control documentation, testing, and remediation.
  • Oversee payroll accounting and biweekly payroll review and approval in coordination with HR and our PEO.
Team & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Supervise, coach, and review the work of accounting personnel, promoting accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Independently resolve routine accounting issues and elevate complex or significant matters to the Controller as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with outsourced service providers and internal teams to ensure timely, accurate transaction processing and issue resolution.
  • Establish clear procedures, priorities, and expectations to support a reliable, well-organized accounting function.
Systems, AI & Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate accounting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Use enterprise AI tools, including Claude, and other approved technologies to support accounting analysis, reconciliations, documentation, and workflow improvements.
  • Support finance systems initiatives, including the transition from Microsoft Dynamics NAV to Dynamics 365 Business Central and expense management system enhancements.
  • Evaluate technology-enabled outputs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal controls and data security requirements.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field with significant accounting coursework, or equivalent relevant education and experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands‑on responsibility for month‑end close, general ledger accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Experience supervising or leading accounting staff, including reviewing work and providing guidance.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting, audit preparation, and internal controls.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills, with demonstrated experience using AI, automation, or modern technology to improve accounting processes.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Preferred
  • Experience in CPG, manufacturing, wholesale, or distribution, particularly within a private equity‑backed or middle‑market company.
  • Experience with inventory accounting, customer deductions, trade spend, or outsourced accounting operations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central, ERP implementations, or finance systems and automation tools.
  • CMA or CPA certification.
