Job summary

Federated Bank is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee the bank’s accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support financial planning. You will manage day-to-day accounting, ensure compliance with regulations, and report to senior leadership.

Typical duties include month-end close, policy enforcement, budgeting collaboration, and internal control enhancements to sustain financial integrity across the Onarga system and branches.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
• Experience in financial institutions preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements for the bank and its branches.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Lead general ledger, A/P/A/R, and loan/deposit subledgers.
• Prepare board reports and respond to regulatory exam requests as needed.
• Collaborate on annual budgets and monitor performance against them.
• Oversee monthly balance of asset and liability accounts; resolve reconciling items.
• Maintain fixed asset depreciation schedules in coordination with the holding company.
• Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

The bank is a subsidiary of Longview Capital Corporation.The Accounting Manager oversees the bank’s accounting operations and ensures accurate financial reporting. The Accounting Manager handles day-to-day accounting functions, ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and supports financial planning and analysis to advance organizational goals. This role is pivotal to maintaining the organization's financial integrity and reports directly to the Controller or senior leadership.PRIMARY DUTIES:Prepare and analyze financial statements for the bank and its branches, as well as other reports as required by the holding company.Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.Maintain and enforce a robust system of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.Lead and manage all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable and loan/deposit subledgers.Prepare financial and board reports using system-generated reports, which may include use of report writers and financial analysis tools.Provide information requested by bank examiners, internal auditors, and external auditors as needed for the regulatory exams and annual audits.Collaborate with management to prepare annual budgets and monitor performance against them.Oversee and review monthly balancing of asset and liability accounts; resolve reconciling items on a timely basis.Maintain the fixed asset depreciation schedules in coordination with the holding company.Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.Attend meetings as needed or required.Comply with BSA/AML training and report any suspicious activity to the BSA officer.Comply with all bank policies and regulations.Complete all training required by management.Performs other duties and responsibilities related to the position and the needs of the organization.QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent required.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred but not required.CPA preferred but not required.Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with financial institution experience preferred, but not required.Proficiency with Microsoft Office productsExperience with bank accounting systems (e.g., Fiserv, Jack Henry, etc.) preferred but not required.Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, GAAP, regulatory compliance requirements, and internal controls.Excellent analytical, organizational, written and oral communication skills.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.Proven leadership and team management abilities.NOTE: This job description does not create an employment contract, implied or otherwise, other than an “at-will” employment relationship.
