Job summary

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in accounting/finance with at least 2 years in supervision, manufacturing experience, and proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (D365, SAP, Oracle). Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations for the department and ensure accurate financial reporting under GAAP.
• Manage A/R and A/P teams and collaborate with other departments on forecasts and reporting.
• Assist with month-end close, budgeting, and internal control improvements.
• Maintain general ledger, asset tracking, and reconciliations including Tooling, CIP and Fixed Assets.
• Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits and mentor accounting staff.

Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. This role has oversight of the A/R and A/P teams and collaborates closely with other departments to support financial decision-making and reporting of results.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting financial results reporting for the department heads and corporate leadership.
• Assist the month-end close processes for a 4-day close timeline.
• Partner with department leaders to provide accurate financial forecasts.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial reports and statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Review and approve journal entries while maintaining strong internal control procedures.
• Maintains the organization's general ledger, tracking assets, liabilities, expenses, and revenues.
• Responsible for keeping BS reconciliations current, including Tooling, CIP and Fixed Assets.
• Assist with the coordination of the annual budgeting process and monitor departmental and cost variance accountability.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Liaise with external auditors during financial audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training and performance evaluations.
• Work with cross-functional teams to implement or improve financial procedures.
• Up to 25% travel may be required at times.

Experience, Skills, Education and Abilities Required for Consideration as a Candidate:

• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role. Mix of public and private ideal.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Manufacturing experience
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., D-365, SAP, Oracle).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions for financial analysis (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivots Tables, SUMIFS).
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Strong team leadership and management skills.
