Job summary

Confidential Company on Long Island is seeking an Accounting Manager to join a growing CPA firm. You will manage client relationships and engagements across accounting, tax compliance, planning, and advisory work.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years public accounting experience, strong background with closely held/private businesses, and experience reviewing tax returns, plus mentoring staff while working directly with Partners.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of public accounting experience.
• Strong experience with closely held/private businesses.
• Combination of accounting and business tax experience.
• Prior review and client management experience.

Responsibilities

• Managing accounting and tax engagements for privately held businesses
• Reviewing partnership, S Corp, C Corp, and individual tax returns
• Reviewing financial statements and underlying accounting records
• Year-round tax planning and business advisory
• Exposure to sales & use tax and federal/state tax examinations
• Advising clients on entity structure, business changes, and succession planning
• Reviewing staff work and mentoring junior team members
• Working directly with Partners and business owners
