Job summary

Dobbs Tire & Auto Centers is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee general ledger close, record transactions, and provide management reporting across multiple locations. This exempt, full-time role reports to the Controller and supports a growing multi-unit business in Missouri.

You will manage fixed assets, assist treasury, ensure US GAAP compliance, and partner with auditors. The ideal candidate has 5+ years senior accounting experience, strong Excel and NetSuite skills, and a bachelor’s

Qualifications

• 5+ years senior accounting experience in a corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, local and corporate governance policies and compliance regulations.
• Experience with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and variance analyses.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare general ledger entries and reconciliations for the monthly close.
• Assist with the preparation and posting of routine general ledger entries.
• Record payroll-related activity to the general ledger with accuracy.
• Perform consolidation activities and support the year-end financial audit.
• Conduct accounting research and analysis, providing recommendations on appropriate accounting treatment.
• Demonstrates the ability to manage complex information and support decision-making.
• Identify and resolve problems by gathering data, researching issues, and applying judgment.
• Analyze accounting records to explain variances identified during financial statement review.
• Support monthly balance sheet and income statement account analysis.
• Manage the Fixed Asset accounting process and reporting.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers and management.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies and employment regulations.
• Collaborate with external auditors and provide documentation as needed.
• Develop and maintain internal processes and controls; update as needed.

This position reports to the Controller and supports a multi-unit business through general accounting and internal control functions and results reporting and analysis. This position is primarily responsible for the monthly general ledger close, recording of accounting transactions, aiding the preparation of financial statements, general ledger and bank account reconciliations, and management reporting and analysis. The Senior Accountant is also responsible for maintaining the fixed assets of the company and supporting the treasury function as needed.

ROLESANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

• PreparetimelyandaccurateGeneral Ledger entries and reconciliations as part of the monthly close process.
• Assistwith the preparation and posting of routine General Ledger entries.
• Record all payroll-relatedactivityto the General Ledger with accuracy and consistency.
• Perform consolidation activities and support the year-end financial audit.
• Conduct accounting research and analysis, providing recommendations onappropriate accountingtreatment.
• Demonstrates the ability to manage complex and diverse information by researching and analyzing data, applying intuition and experience to support decision-making, designing effective workflows and procedures, andmaintaininga strong understanding of accounting theory and US GAAP.
• Identifiesand resolves problems promptly by gathering and analyzing information effectively, developing alternative solutions, contributing to group problem-solving efforts, exercising sound judgment in sensitive situations, and proactively researching and resolving accounting-related issues.
• Analyze accounting records to investigate and explain variancesidentifiedduring financial statement review.
