Job summary

The Accounting Manager will lead core accounting operations in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, overseeing day-to-day activities and ensuring accurate financial reporting across domestic and international operations.

This hands-on leadership role requires managing a team, improving controls, and partnering cross-functionally to support the business from the Downers Grove, IL office with hybrid onsite work four days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• CPA certification required.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience; mix of public accounting and industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger, close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Review and approve journal entries and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage the monthly close process and support monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
• Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, review, and mentorship.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
• Serve as a key contact for external auditors and support annual audit activities.
• Support tax-related reporting by coordinating with internal and external partners.
• Partner cross-functionally on accounting-related initiatives and special projects.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve controls, and enhance reporting efficiency.

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager will lead core accounting operations in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This role oversees day-to-day accounting activities and plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and continuous process improvement across domestic and international operations. This is a hands‑on leadership role ideal for someone who enjoys managing people, owning complex accounting areas, and partnering cross-functionally to support the business.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger, close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Review and approve journal entries and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage the monthly close process and support monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
• Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, review, and mentorship

• Good knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Education and Additional Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
• CPA required
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a mix of public accounting and industry preferred
• Prior experience managing or mentoring accounting staff
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Collaborative, proactive leadership style

Special Requirements

Hybrid position based in A&K USA’s Downer Grove, IL office, with an expectation of working onsite at least four days per week.

Salary Range

$125,000 - $140,000; position is bonus eligible
