Job summary

Verra Mobility is seeking an Accounting Manager within the centralized accounting function in the United States. The role reports to the Assistant Controller and currently has one direct report.

You will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including fixed assets, general ledger, and month-end/year-end closings, as well as inventory valuations and counts. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for driving process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting is required.
• Minimum of 12 years accounting experience.
• 7-9 years experience in fixed assets and related duties.
• Proficient with MS Excel and use of formulas.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a direct report with coaching and training for professional growth and performance.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations of fixed assets, general ledger, and month-end/year-end close processes.
• Manage inventory processes including revaluations, reviewing standard costs, and supporting counts.
• Review analyses, reports, journal entries, and reconciliations prepared by the team.
• Explain fluctuations in financial statements to senior leadership as needed.
• Provide support to internal and external auditors during year-end audits and quarterly reviews.
• Continuously assess and improve accounting processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy.

Position Overview:

Verra Mobility is hiring an Accounting Manager in the centralized accounting function. This position will report to the Assistant Controller and currently has one direct report.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead a direct report including providing guidance, coaching, and training to ensure their professional development and effective performance
• Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of fixed assets, general ledger, and month-end/year-end close processes
• Responsible for managing our inventory processes and completing tasks including but not limited to inventory revaluations, reviewing standard costs, and supporting the inventory counts.
• Manage and review analysis, reports, journal entries and reconciliations prepared by the team.
• Review financial statements, and provide explanations for fluctuations of accounts to senior leadership as needed
• Demonstrate attention to detail and effective multi-tasking
• Provide support to internal and external auditors in connection with the year-end audit and quarterly reviews
• Continuously assess and improve accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
