Zurich North America in Schaumburg offers an Accounting Internship for Summer 2027 within our Accounting organization. You will work with mentors on real projects that improve the efficiency of our financial processes.

You will gain exposure to Financial Reporting, General Accounting, P&L concepts, and Excel plus SAP BPC. The program emphasizes mentorship, hands-on experience, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Currently enrolled in Fall 2027.
• Two or more years of college coursework (rising Junior or Senior).
• Microsoft Office experience.
• Be legally eligible to work in the U.S. indefinitely.

Responsibilities

• Assist key functions like Financial Reporting, General Accounting, Reinsurance, or Accounting Policy.
• Understand insurance P&L statements and financial operations.
• Develop basic/intermediate skills in SAP BPC and Business Objects queries.

The Role

As an Accounting Intern at Zurich, you will be an integral part of our Accounting organization. Under the guidance of experienced professionals and mentors, you will contribute to real projects and tasks that enhance the efficiency of our financial processes.

During your internship, you will have the opportunity to:

• Provide support to key functions such as Financial Reporting, General Accounting, Reinsurance, or Accounting Policy.

• Understand insurance Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and financial operations.

• Develop basic/intermediate skills in SAP BPC application and Business Objects queries.

• Acquire advanced Excel skills and capabilities for data analysis.

• Learn about international accounting standards and proper interaction with other departments.

• Explore other functional areas within Zurich through day‑to‑day work.

• Develop a deep understanding of insurance operations.

Basic Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program and will be enrolled in the Fall of 2027

• Two or more years of college coursework (should be a rising Junior or Senior)

• Microsoft Office experience

• Be legally eligible to work in the U.S indefinitely

• Cumulative GPA at/above 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposedHourly rate for this position is $22.00.We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits for employees and their families.
