Job summary

As an intern, you will be mentored by seasoned professionals, learn GAAP, and develop skills in data analysis and Power BI while supporting day-to-day operations of a large-scale refinery.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (Junior or Senior standing preferred).
• Strong academic background in core accounting principles and problem-solving.
• Interest in business accounting, Finance, and energy-related industries.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Analyze financial data and perform variance analysis to help identify trends and discrepancies.
• Contribute to special projects, including audits and process improvement initiatives.
• Learn and apply financial reporting standards, including GAAP.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate financial data.
• Maintain and organize financial records and documentation.
• Develop data via visualization tools such as Power BI.
