Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. offers a Corporate Accounting Internship Program designed to provide hands-on experience in financial accounting, cost accounting, tax accounting, and related areas.

The 12-week, 40-hour-per-week onsite assignment runs Summer 2027 and includes orientation, travel reimbursement, tours of facilities, and leadership networking. Interns perform tasks similar to entry-level accountants, including budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting, and tax compliance.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting at a 4-year university/college.
• Minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA (Accounting GPA & Cumulative GPA).
• 12 completed semester hours at a 4-year university before the internship starts.
• If a transfer student, must have 12 semester hours completed at a 4-year university.

Responsibilities

• Create reports on financial performance for internal and external use.
• Take part in special projects and ad hoc reporting requests.
• Estimate forecast scenarios and budget.
• Specify, build, and run data extracts from subsystems with account-level information.
• Produce daily balance sheet to assist the trading desk.
• Post entries, verify, and reconcile inputs to financial reporting systems.
• Enter transactions and reconcile reports.
