Koppers Inc. in Pittsburgh seeks an Accounting Intern to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced corporate finance environment.

The role exposes you to month-end close activities, fixed asset accounting, capital expenditure processes, lease accounting, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives. You will support month-end closes, account reconciliations, asset accounting, audits, and internal reporting, while leveraging Excel and ERP tools to analyze data and drive business

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with a major or concentration in Accounting.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Willingness to learn and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities.
• Assist with account reconciliations and variances research.
• Support fixed asset and capital expenditure accounting processes.
• Support lease administration and documentation maintenance.
• Compile supporting documentation for audits and financial reporting.
• Assist with financial reporting and SEC filing support.
• Prepare analyses and reports using Excel and ERP systems.
• Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with accounting professionals across functions to support objectives.
