Job summary

Teton Group in Rexburg, ID is seeking an Accounting Intern for Fall 2026. This in-person, part-time role offers 20 hours per week (270+ total hours) and a hands-on experience supporting daily accounting operations in a multi-entity Dairy Queen franchise organization.

Work directly with the Controller and Managing Director, performing bank deposits, transaction coding in QuickBooks Enterprise, bank reconciliations, and month-end processes while learning how multi-entity accounting and restaurant

Qualifications

• BYU-Idaho accounting or finance student; accounting majors preferred.
• Completed introductory financial accounting; Intermediate Accounting or QuickBooks experience is a plus.
• Strong Excel fundamentals; reliable, organized, discreet, and willing to trace a difference until it is resolved.
• Available 20 hours each week and able to complete at least 270 hours during the semester if seeking BYU-Idaho accounting internship credit.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and validate daily deposit activity across multiple restaurant locations.
• Import bank activity and support accurate transaction coding, class allocation, and documentation in QuickBooks Enterprise.
• Assist with monthly bank reconciliations and investigate timing differences or unmatched transactions.
• Prepare monthly close support, including over/short, paid-out, merchant-fee, labor, and intercompany schedules.
• Attach invoices and receipts, organize recurring files, investigate differences, and improve checklists as you learn the process.

Reports To

This is not a shadowing internship. You will work directly with our Controller and Managing Director and own recurring accounting work that matters—helping a multi-state Dairy Queen franchise organization turn daily operating activity into accurate, useful financial information.

What you will do

• Prepare and validate daily deposit activity across multiple restaurant locations.

• How a Controller uses QuickBooks Enterprise, Excel, Access, and restaurant data to protect cash and support decisions.

What we are looking for

• Current BYU-Idaho accounting or finance student; accounting majors strongly preferred.
