Job description

The Accounting & FP&A Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, managing the month-end close process, and delivering accurate financial reporting while leading budgeting, forecasting, and business performance analysis. This role partners closely with executive leadership, operations, and HR teams to drive financial performance, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting efforts across the company
• Develop, maintain, and enhance short- and long-term financial models to support strategic planning
• Prepare and manage Actual vs. Budget (AvB) reporting for expenses, payroll, and consultants
• Partner with department leaders and operations teams to evaluate performance, identify risks, and uncover opportunities for margin improvement
• Prepare and present clear, actionable financial insights, trends, and recommendations to the Controller, COO, and CFO
• Oversee and continuously improve the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness
• Partner closely with the Controller to implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) that create a more structured and efficient close process
• Maintain and communicate clear close calendars, responsibilities, deadlines, and approval workflows
• Review and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal accounting policies, and company standards
• Strengthen internal controls, data integrity, and documentation across financial systems and processes
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and operational efficiencies

Cross-Functional Leadership & Strategic Support

• Serve as a key financial liaison across departments
• Provide financial guidance to business leaders on budgeting, cost control, and performance optimization
• Support the ongoing development and optimization of financial systems, reporting tools, and ERP platforms, including QuickBooks, BlueCherry, NetSuite, Shopify, and RLM
• Assist in building scalable and repeatable finance processes to support company growth and operational complexity
• Contribute to ad hoc financial analyses, special projects, and strategic initiatives as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Reporting & Controls

• Actual vs. Budget (AvB) reports
• Monthly and quarterly bank reports
• Year-to-date COGS analysis
• Discount and returns analysis by customer
• Cost checks and variance analysis
• Strengthen internal controls, documentation, and accounting consistency
• Design and maintain a structured Chart of Accounts (COA) aligned with business needs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
• 5-7 years of experience in accounting and/or FP&A
• Proven experience managing the monthly close process
• Experience overseeing multi-channel financials, including retail, wholesale, and e-commerce operations
• Demonstrated ownership of the P&L process and experience partnering directly with executives and senior leadership
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and CapEx analysis
• Fashion industry experience preferred; experience in retail, apparel, or e-commerce environments strongly preferred
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems
• Salary range: $100,000-$110,000 annually
