Job summary

Jobtailor in Minnesota is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles, partner with the Senior Controller, and ensure compliant financial reporting across business units.

You will apply strong accounting knowledge, drive process improvements, mentor staff, and collaborate on regulatory filings and internal controls, with opportunities to leverage AI tools for efficiency.

The role requires US work authorization and a CPA/CMA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of five years of accounting experience focused on financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• CPA, CMA, or other certification preferred.
• Experience in a corporate environment and with Shared Services outside the US preferred.
• Proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement.
• High integrity and confidentiality.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting processes.
• Partner with the Senior Controller and shared financial service teams to ensure compliant and successful closing and accounting processes.
• Provide accounting expertise and financial insights to business units.
• Support the Senior Controller with questions regarding accounting processes, accounts receivable, and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.
• Support statutory accounts and regulatory filings, coordinating with external auditors as required.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes for assigned business units.
• Review balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with financial statements and management reports.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Lead or participate in cross-functional projects involving financial systems, reporting tools, and procedures.
• Use AI and other tools to improve processes, reporting, and analysis.
• Train and guide non-finance staff on financial processes and best practices.
• Mentor other accounting staff and support their professional development

Requirements

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification (preferred)
• Experience in a corporate or large business environment (preferred)
• Experience working with Shared Services outside of the US (preferred)
• Proactive and adaptable with a continuous improvement attitude (preferred)
• High level of integrity and confidentiality (preferred)
