BeachFleischman is seeking a proactive Accounting & Assurance Intern to join our A&A team in Arizona. The intern will assist in the preparation of audit work papers and conduct field work under the supervision of a CPA and buddy.

It’s a hands-on role focusing on audit procedures, financial statement notes, and researching accounting standards. Ideal for undergrad/grad accounting students aspiring to CPA licensure.

Qualifications

• Undergrad or graduate accounting student in good academic standing.
• Desire to acquire CPA license.
• Ability to learn complex tax software systems.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparation of audit work papers
• Completes analytical review procedures including documentation of expectation, results and conclusions for a simple review
• Communicates with senior staff regarding assignment status
• Drafts financial statements and notes for a simple compilation or review
• Performs assigned audit procedures for specific accounts and transactions under supervision
• Begins to learn the rules and literature of CPA, FASB and GASB
• Begins to obtain working knowledge of tax and accounting research techniques
• Provides assistance to senior accounting staff

We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated Accounting & Assurance Intern to join our A&A team.

Position Overview

The Audit Intern assists in the preparation of audit work papers and conducts field work. Under the supervision a CPA and assigned buddy, Interns begin to exercise independent judgment and discretion when preparing audit work papers, as well as in conducting field work, based on their knowledge of accounting rules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists in preparation of audit work papers
• Completes analytical review procedures including documentation of expectation, results and conclusions for a simple review, and works with clients (as necessary) to obtain information and communicate review procedures
• Communicates with senior staff regarding assignment status
• Drafts financial statements and notes for a simple compilation or review
• Performs assigned audit procedures for specific accounts and transactions under the supervision of more experienced staff
• Begins to learn, understand, and apply the rules, requirements, and code of conduct of the AICPA, and the authoritative literature established by the FASB and GASB
• Begins to obtains a working knowledge of tax and accounting research techniques and the various research sources, and performs research utilizing those techniques
• Provides assistance to senior accounting staff

• Performs other accounting services and duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to learn complex tax software systems
• Must have strong communication, organizational and analytical skills

Qualifications

• Undergraduate-level accounting student OR graduate-level accounting student
• Must be in good academic standing

• Desire to acquire CPA license
