Job summary

Capital One is seeking an Accounting Associate in Wilmington, DE who will participate in reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger activities to support our business units. You will collaborate with a skilled team, learn our accounting processes, and expand responsibilities through analysis and project work.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (or military experience) and at least 1 year in public or corporate accounting, with CPA and accounting-focused degrees preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, or military experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in public or corporate accounting.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (preferred).
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in public, corporate accounting, audit or finance or a combination.
• 1+ year of experience with Google Office or Microsoft Office products, or a combination.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations for review with management
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for review with management
• Research and resolve data issues as they arise
• Identify and drive process improvements
• Participate in challenging project initiatives with the team
• Provide business requirements for data collection and sourcing, and provide compliance efforts to outside auditors
• Perform ad hoc requests
