Job summary

Northbound Executive Search's client, a hedge fund, seeks a Staff Accountant to support quarter and year-end close, maintain the general ledger, process accounts payable and receivable, and assist with audits. The ideal candidate has at least four years of corporate accounting and financial reporting experience, preferably in asset management.

Responsibilities include preparing financial reports, reconciliations, and monthly analyses; reviewing general ledger activity; and supporting audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Highly detail oriented and organized.
• Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office; especially Excel.
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management to maximize results.
• 1–2 years’ experience Public Accounting Experience a plus

• Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to general ledger, and may review and approve monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare and post entries to general ledger accounts and to document business transactions.
• Prepare reports on a monthly basis, including forecasts, operation expense reports and others.
• Other ad hoc requests as needed.
