Job summary

Pacific Seafood is seeking an Accounting Analyst who will partner with the finance team to manage financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting for the Aquaculture Division.

You will develop insights on costs and profitability, support capital project evaluations, and help drive continuous improvement across operations, reporting to the Finance Lead and collaborating with production, sales, and logistics teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, payroll, or a related role.
  • Strong MS Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Financial Planning and Forecasting.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial analysis, insights, and direction to support decision‑making by the leadership team.
  • Review and analyze annual budgets, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
  • Assist and support the three‑year forecast.
  • Support Return on Investment analysis for capital expenditure.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to support pricing strategies, margin analysis, and sales forecasting.
  • Analyze and report on sales performance and profitability by product line, ensuring that pricing decisions support the company’s financial goals.

Department: Aquaculture Div Finance

Location: Clackamas

Summary

The Accounting Analyst plays a key role in managing protocol and reports. They are expected to perform complex data and operational analysis focused on achieving business goals and objectives in support of, and working directly with, the finance team. This role is ideal for someone who excels in data analysis and audit tools to appropriately analyze and trend information to support operational and procedural decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Financial Planning and Forecasting
  • Provide timely and accurate financial analysis, insights, and direction to support decision‑making by the leadership team
  • Analyze, coach, mentor, and coordinate creative and strategic pivots within operating subgroups
  • Review and analyze annual budgets, ensuring alignment with corporate goals
  • Assist and support the three‑year forecast
  • Support Return on Investment analysis for capital expenditure
  • Operational Support and Decision‑Making
  • In coordination with the Finance Lead, partner with operations leadership to provide financial insights for continuous improvement. Assist in evaluating new business initiatives and capital projects
  • Oversee and provide insight into financial implications regarding farm planting and harvest schedule plans
  • Coordinate with managers on labor utilization and tracking, providing insights into process improvements and efficiency gains
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to support pricing strategies, margin analysis, and sales forecasting
  • Analyze and report on sales performance and profitability by product line, ensuring that pricing decisions support the company’s financial goals
  • Evaluate performance through competitive, price sensitivity, market planning, and sales planning analyses
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • Provide operational insights into cost management and profitability
  • Monitor operational financial performance against the forecast and budget and provide variance analysis with actionable recommendations
  • Process Improvement and Efficiency
  • Lead financial process improvements, ensuring systems and reporting tools enhance accuracy and efficiency across the division
Supporting Duties
  • Operations Projects
  • Assist with operational initiatives, special projects, and strategic initiatives as needed.
  • Provide analysis and business support with potential mergers and/or acquisitions
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, payroll, or a related role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in detailed business analysis reporting.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite, primarily Word and Excel.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be available to work Monday–Friday during regular working hours, with occasional weekend duties.
  • Ability to maintain a stationary position 80% of the time, with intermittent walking, standing, bending, reaching, and/or crawling.
  • Ability to move and transport documents, equipment, or other items weighing up to 50 pounds across various locations for different team members, departments, and events.
  • Capable of occasional travel as required by duties, demonstrating efficiency and effectiveness in diverse locations.
  • Capable of operating a computer and other office productivity machinery, including a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
  • Capable of frequently communicating with team members and stakeholders, accurately conveying detailed or important spoken instructions.
  • Capable of perceiving visuals for activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer screen, and engaging in extensive reading.
