# Accounting AnalystLOS ANGELES, CA 90045## Description**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following. Other job-related duties may be assigned.* Perform cost analysis, identify and investigate accounting irregularities/abnormalities and report to management.* Work collaboratively with Production Department to review monthly plant expenses.* Prepare journal entries to accrue revenue and expenses or other items in accordance with GAAP and the accounting policies established by the company.* Perform account reconciliation to ensure balances are correct.* Review accounts to resolve and understand unusual items and variances.* Provide support and necessary documents for annual external audit.* Assist Controller to continue developing improvements in internal policies, procedures, and processes.* Liaise with information systems and technologies team to implement improvements to the accounting system.* Prepare, review, and audit internal payment requests to ensure accurate and proper documentation.* Support Controller on income and other tax filing requirements.* Learn the basics of the accounts payable system and function.* Assist with month-end closing* Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned, including ad hoc reports and analyses.* Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting.## Qualifications**Qualifications for Accounting Analyst*** Strong critical thinking skills and understanding of basic accounting concepts (e.g. debits and credits)* High-level knowledge of US GAAP* Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel* Strong familiarity with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite* Ability to quickly learn industry-related regulations quickly and utilize information in written reports* Comfortable preparing and delivering reports to management**QUALIFICATIONS**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
