Job summary

JM Eagle is seeking an Accounting Analyst to analyze costs, financial results, trends, variances, and unusual transactions, and provide management with actionable recommendations. You will collaborate with the Production Department to review monthly plant expenses and assist with month-end close.

The role requires strong US GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH), plus the ability to prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in accounting/finance/business and 4–6 years of full-time accounting experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and advanced Excel features.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and present insights to management.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze costs, financial results, trends, variances, and unusual transactions, and provide recommendations to management.
  • Work collaboratively with Production Department to review monthly plant expenses.
  • Assist with month-end closing.
  • Prepare journal entries to accrue revenue and expenses or other items in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Provide support for annual external audit and for income and other tax filing requirements.
  • Liaise with information systems and technologies team to implement improvements to the accounting system.
  • Perform other duties and ad hoc reports as assigned.

Other job-related duties may be assigned.Analyze costs, financial results, identify trends, variances, and unusual transactions, and provide recommendations to management.Work collaboratively with Production Department to review monthly plant expenses.Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned, including ad hoc reports and analyses.Assist with month-end closing.Prepare journal entries to accrue revenue and expenses or other items in accordance with GAAP and the accounting policies established by the company.Perform detailed account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely resolution of reconciling items.Provide support and necessary documents for annual external audit.Provide support for income and other tax filing requirements.Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting.Assist Assistant Controller to continue developing improvements in internal policies, procedures, and processes.Liaise with information systems and technologies team to implement improvements to the accounting system.Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned, including ad hoc reports and analyses.Qualifications for Accounting AnalystStrong critical thinking skills and understanding of basic accounting concepts (e.g. debits and credits)High-level knowledge of US GAAPAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, data validation, conditional formatting, and the ability to analyze and manipulate large datasets efficiently.Strong familiarity with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to quickly learn industry-related regulations quickly and utilize information in written reportsComfortable preparing and delivering reports to managementQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to speak effectively before groups (executives, employees, customers and agents).REASONING ABILITYAbility to resolve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished verbally or in written form.
