Essential Duties & Functions
- Ensure timely, high quality client accounting service that meets or exceeds client and firm expectations.
- Participate in new client and prospect discovery meetings.
- Review monthly accounting for accounting clients, maintaining overall quality.
- Accurately prepare individual, corporate, partnership and non-profit tax returns for your bookkeeping clients andfor annual clients.
- Exemplify initiative in everything, actively seeking to learn and be proactive with clients and our team.
- Apply exceptional technical knowledge to review and preparation of accounting projects and tax returns.
- Manage integration of cloud-based accounting applications to ensure an ideal system for clients with a seamless user experience.
- Perform reviews on clients to assess client profitability, service failures, and overall client position.
- Communicate proactively with clients on tax and business planning and document accordingly.
- Analyze and respond to notices and exams.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring of Accountants.
- Adhere to firm processes and procedures including knowledge of the firm's policy on privacy and the CPA-client confidentiality privilege under Internal Revenue Code section 7525.
- Know and follow the Code of Professional Conduct of the AICPA (including the Statements on Standards for Accounting and Review Services), and Treasury Department Circular 230.
- Perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.
- Maintain chart of accounts, general ledger, payroll, and cash management.
- Create well written work documents such as letters, correspondence, and memos in a clear, concise, and well documented manner, including referencing.
- Ensure clean integration of client accounting technologies such as QuickBooks Online
- Communicate with Client Service Team about emerging client accounting needs.
- Most work is performed in an office setting. Some travel and networking will be required.
- Handle other tasks and projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelors level degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or Enrolled Agent license required.
- Three years of experience in accounting.
- Ability to handle income and sales tax preparation and related exams with no supervision.
- Must be driven, take ownership and initiative, and possess strong leadership skills.
- Must work well in a team, and be empatheticand solution focused.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities and excellent attention to detail.
- Experience in payroll processing, regulations, and tax implications.
- Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online
- Must have strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, supervisory, and organizational skills.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of complex accounting and tax standards across multi-states and various client entity types including non-profit, corporate, and individual.
- Must be process driven and understand complex operating policies, procedures, and make routine recommendations for improvement.
- Results driven with emphasis on quality and service that consistently meets or exceeds client expectations.
