Under the general direction of the Chief Accounting Officer (Business Taxes Administrator III), the Accounting Administrator (AA) I (Specialist) performs the most complex and sensitive professional accounting work in a large, multifaceted fiscal environment. The AA I (Specialist) conducts advanced analytical accounting activities involving the establishment, maintenance, and analysis of financial records across multiple Accounting Sections. Serves as project manager for enterprise-wide fiscal management initiatives. Provides expert advisory services to the California Department of Tax and Fee (CDTFA) management and executive staff. Represents the Accounting Branch in statewide and departmental discussions on accounting policies and operations. Maintains effective working relationships with CDTFA programs, the Budget Branch, Cashiers Section, State Controller’s Office (SCO), State Treasurer’s Office (STO), California State Auditor’s Office (CSA), Department of Finance (DOF), and other state entities.
