Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking an accounting professional to join the Finance & Accounting Group in San Diego.

The role partners with cross-functional leaders to provide strategic accounting conclusions on complex arrangements and to design scalable, compliant operations for growth initiatives. The successful candidate will review new contracts, support M&A activities, and drive process improvements using AI, automation and analytics, with a focus on accurate quarterly close and revenue

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field is required.
• CPA or equivalent is preferred, with audit experience.
• Experience in a large matrix organization is desirable.

• Partner with business unit finance and accounting to review contracts and provide ASC 606 guidance.
• Support mergers and acquisitions, including opening balance sheet review.

General Summary

Excellent opportunity to join Qualcomm's accounting team, supporting emerging and evolving businesses. This role partners closely with cross-functional business and finance leaders to support critical business functions. This person will act as a strategic advisor for accounting conclusions on complex and non-standard arrangements and will play a key role in process transformation to design scalable, efficient and compliant operations supporting our growth initiatives.

This role requires full-time onsite presence in San Diego, CA (5 days per week).

Eligibility

• This role is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with our business unit finance teams and technical accounting to review new contracts and deal proposals, providing accurate accounting guidance on complex and non-standard arrangements in accordance with ASC 606.


• Support mergers and acquisitions, including opening balance sheet review and integration.


• Serve as key point of contact for general accounting inquiries related to emerging businesses.


• Identify and implement opportunities to leverage AI, automation and data analytics to optimize existing processes, improve operational efficiency and generate actionable insights.


• Perform quarter-end close activities including journal entries, flux analysis and preparation of schedules supporting quarterly and annual filings (10-Q, 10-K).


• Provide guidance for system and tool enablement for new revenue models, billing and collections processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related degree


• 4+ years of Finance, Accounting, or related work experience


• 2+ years experience working in a large matrixed organization

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of Finance, Accounting, or related work experience


• Working knowledge of Tableau, Oracle, TM1 and Salesforce Billing is a plus


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite


• CPA certification or country equivalent with audit experience


• Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master's = 1 year, Doctorate = 2 years) of work experience

• Bachelor's degree.

Pay Range And Other Compensation & Benefits

$98,000.00 - $147,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
